Waste management is intended to reduce the adverse effects of waste on human health, the environment, planetary resources, and aesthetics. The aim of waste management is to reduce the dangerous effects of such waste on the environment and human health.
A waste assessment identifies waste generated at a facility, and purchasing and management practices; examines current waste reduction practices and assesses their effectiveness; and identifies the areas and materials in which waste reduction efforts will be most effective. Waste management looks at the overall effectiveness of the processes which involve the distribution of waste from public and corporate entities to the landfill sites. The overall infrastructure will be evaluated as well as the upkeep and safeguard of expensive machinery and equipment used on landfill sites. It will be assessed whether the landfill sites operate within all the correct and applicable municipal by laws, has valid licenses, checked that certain types of wastes are disposed of correctly, etc.
